Wavy Maguire
Wavy Maguire has performed in various clubs nationally, including Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club, The Funny Bone, The Improv and Caroline’s NY. Wavy always displays a keen ability to not only make his friend’s laugh, but strangers as well. Encouraged by a close friend, Wavy took a chance and decided to try stand- up. That one open mic session would lead him to hit the stage at the Nuyorican Poets Café. Inspired by Def Comedy Jam, Wavy was greatly influenced by comedians Tony Rock, Martin Lawrence, Damon Wayans, and Eddie Murphy. Wavy was introduced to Tony Rock, who became a mentor. He had his first big break when Tony offered him an opening spot at Gotham Comedy Club. Tony presented him the opportunity to travel around the country hosting and opening shows for his “Rock the Mic Tour”. Wavy seized the opportunity and has been on a comedy journey since. Wavy has opened and hosted for headliner’s Ali Siddiq, Jordan Rock and Luenell. Wavy is the featured comedian/MC host for VH1’s Love and Hip-Hop Reunion shows an idea he pitched to the show’s creator Mona Scott-Young. Wavy continues to keep the audience energized & engaged during with his word play, unassuming demeanor, and storytelling ability.
