Mariel Jimenez

Mariel Jimenez is a writer and comedian living in New York City. Growing up as an avid reader and writer—thanks to her parents owning small bookstores in their hometown—Mariel eventually pursued Journalism as a career, landing in the beauty and fitness departments of Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, and OK! Magazine. While based in Asia as a beauty editor and lifestyle and fitness writer, she had actively covered media events in London, Milan, Tokyo, Singapore, and more. She later moved to New York City and joined the marketing department at Hearst Magazines International, working with heritage brands including Harper’s BAZAAR, Esquire, and more. Outside of her corporate career, Mariel is a stand-up comedian performing throughout New York City. Drawing from her background in journalism, motherhood, marriage, and modern city life, her comedy blends observational storytelling with pop culture commentary. In addition to performing, she also creates social media content, promotional campaigns, and show artwork for comedy venues and live events. Her work has been featured in Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Gotham Magazine.
